Repeat from * around to last 2 sts, sc in next st, ch 1, sc in last st, join. Fasten off. Neck Edging With right side facing you, join w/sl st in first ch, ch 1, sc in same sp, * ch 1, sc in next ch. Repeat from * across to end, sl st in same sp as last sc was made. Fasten off. Armhole Edging Join w/sl st in 2nd ch at underarm, ch 1, sc in same sp & in next ch, (sc, ch 1 in next sc) 10 times, sc in next sc, sc in first ch of underarm, join. Fasten off. Trimmings Step 1 - Using needle & double strand of thread, string 80 pearls. With bottom edge of skirt toward you, skip bottom shell, attach one end of pearl string to edge of next shell, lay string across panel to next shell, attach to edge of next shell. Step 2 - Following above directions, for next shell, make string of 75 pearls. Attach to shell on row above last pearl string. Step 3 - Continue in this manner working up the panel to top of skirt. Decrease number of pearls for ea row as follows: 70, 65, 60, 55, 50, 45, 43, 40, 35, 33, 30, 28, 25, 23, 20, 18, 15, 13. Step 4 - Repeat Steps 1 - 3 for ea of next 5 panels. Step 5 - Glue 1 rose to beg & end of ea strand of pearls on ea row & on ea panel. Step 6 - Sew 3 snaps to back opening of bodice. Step 7 - Cut 1 yd of ribbon, place on waist of doll, working thru one st under ea arm. Tie into bow at back, leaving length at ends to drape down dress. Trim ends at an angle. Step 8 - Make string of 33 pearls & tie around neck for necklace. Veil Headband Row 1 - ch 31, sc in 2nd ch from hook & in ea ch across, ch 2, do not turn. Row 2 - Working on opposite side of beg ch, sc in first ch, * ch 1, sc in next ch. Repeat from * to end. Fasten off. Sew ends together. Finishing Step 1 - Gather lace tightly. Step 2 - Put headband on doll. Keeping front standing up, roll back down. Step 3 - Glue gathered edge of lace to back of headband. Step 4 - Glue roses to top of lace where it attaches to headband. |
